Transformation of the lower-level event space in Lerner Hall, formerly called B60/Party Space, is now complete. The Wang Pavilion is a world-class performance space for musical, dance, and artist performances, and arts-related programming and activities.
Wang Pavilion is designed for performances and can accommodate about 180 people. It includes a state-of-the-art built-in sound and lighting system and a 300 sq. ft. stage with a permanent piano. There is a separate upstairs lounge, which can be used as a reception space. The upper lounge can accommodate 30 people.
The new event space includes unique house and specialty lighting, acoustical finishes, and a new AV and sound system. It also has totally renovated bathrooms and a catering area.
Event Management supports student event scheduling for Wang Pavilion. The space is also utilized by the Music department for teaching during the day and for student performances.
The project is the final installment of a three-part initiative towards enhancing spaces for the student community, through a generous donation made by University Trustee Shirley Wang BUS’93 and Walter Wang.
In 2021, the John Jay Hall lounge was restored as an open space for the residential community. Then, in 2022 the Wallach ESPORTS Room was created as a new and unique place for undergraduate students to come together through gaming.
